A major scuffle broke out between the locals and the police and forest authorities at Kaziranga this morning.
As per reports, the clash broke out following the imposition of section 144 in area to prevent community fishing on 13th and 14th.
The district authorities has imposed the ban on fishing as they believe the locals are up for business under the veil of traditions. This has irked up the locals as they gathered up for fishing and after a scuffle with the police today, they blocked the National Highway 37.
Sources informed that the police then had to resort to blank firing to disperse the local people.
