1000 COVID-19 vaccines reportedly got spoiled at Silchar Medical College Hospital

A major lapse by the Assam’s Health Department, as at least 1000 COVID-19 vaccines reportedly got spoiled at Silchar Medical College Hospital (SMCH) after refrigerating at the below the prescribed level.

It is also said that COVID-19 vaccines should have been stored at a temperature of -10 to -18 degrees centigrade; however, the management of the Silchar Medical College failed to follow the guidelines.

As the vaccines were kept at a much lower temperature than the prescribed temperature, hence, the vaccines were recovered in the form of ice on the very next day, i.e on Saturday.
