Guwahati: It’s indeed a proud moment for the state, as Assam’s popular Bodo actress Pansy Brahma won the Best Actress award at the Big Sound International Film Festival 2020, Canada.
Pansy won the award for her short film, titled ‘Dusk.’ The film is directed by Abhishek Basu Roy and written by Ujjwal Paul.
Pansy won the Best Actress award for the film prior to the official release of the trailer.
As per reports, Pansy plays the role of a Nepalese prostitute, living in the red light area of Kolkata, West Bengal.
Notably, Pansy, who hails from the district of Kokrajhar, Assam, has earlier acted in the nationally acclaimed Bodo film, ‘Jeloi-Dia-Sit’. Meanwhile, ‘Dusk’ has been selected for screening at the Calcutta Film Festival.
